Start close to home

Your first buyers probably already know you. Friends, past customers, people who follow your work. Tell them directly, one at a time if you can.

Share one product

A link to a whole store asks people to browse. A link to one product, with a line about why you chose it, asks them to look at one thing. More people will.

Learn from the first sales

Ask your first buyers what nearly stopped them. Their answer tells you what to fix on the page: the photo, the price, the shipping time or something you never thought of.

Make it easy to say yes

Make the first order simple. Clear photos, an honest shipping time and a plain return policy remove most of the reasons people hesitate.

Ask for a mention

When a buyer is happy, ask whether they'd tell a friend or share a photo. One honest recommendation from someone they know does more than a dozen posts of your own.
